D&D Travel's Local Photo Series...

The following images were taken along Seabury Drive in Bloomfield, CT early on the morning of October 1st, 2013. The Seabury Retirement Community sits atop a hill previously occupied by AC Petersen Farms in years past. The farm had been a Bloomfield fixture since 1937. In fact, this land was originally owned by descendants of Edward Messenger (one of Bloomfield's first settlers, who purchased land in Southeast Bloomfield in 1661), building early homes on and near "the hill."  Views from this spot can be quite beautiful...The Wintonbury Flying Field and  (dry) Reservoir No. 2 are just to the north, accessed directly off Seabury Drive. During good weather, you can hear the buzz of radio-controlled model aircraft in the surrounding area...Historical information provided by the Wintonbury Historical Society's "Over Tunxis Trails."
